ISR Performance - Solid Steering Shaft Assembly - BMW E36

The ISR Performance Solid Steering Shaft Assembly for the BMW E36 replaces the stock rubber-coupling shaft with a solid steel unit. Two jobs: header clearance for engine swaps (the slim profile clears headers that the OEM shaft hits), and a more responsive steering feel by eliminating the rubber coupling's deflection.

What It Does

The OEM E36 steering shaft includes a rubber coupling that, over time and especially under hard driving, introduces deflection and vague feel through the wheel. This solid replacement removes that compliance for quicker, more direct steering response. The slim profile also clears swap headers that the stock shaft routinely interferes with, so it's a near-mandatory part for E36 LS, 2JZ, RB, or similar engine swaps.
