ISR Performance Brake Line Kit - Mazda Miata 06-13 (4 line kit)

The ISR Performance Brake Line Kit is a complete 4-line stainless steel braided brake line replacement set for the 2006-2013 Mazda Miata. Replaces all four factory rubber brake lines with stainless braided lines for firmer pedal feel, more consistent stopping under repeated hard use, and protection against age-related rubber line failure. Includes all OEM-replacement adapters and banjo bolts needed for direct install.

What It Does

Factory rubber brake lines expand under hydraulic pressure, which means some of your brake pedal travel goes into stretching the line instead of actually clamping the calipers. The result is a softer pedal and longer stopping distances under repeated hard braking. Stainless steel braided lines have a non-expanding inner liner wrapped in stainless braid, so every bit of pedal pressure transfers directly to the calipers. Firmer pedal, more consistent feel during repeated track or autocross stops, and the lines don't degrade with brake fluid contamination or age.

Critical Installation Notes

Professional installation recommended. Brake line installation is safety-critical work. If you're not confident in your own brake skills, take this to a shop.

Do not mix line types. Running stainless lines on some corners and factory rubber on others creates uneven hydraulic response and is not recommended. Replace all four at once.

Bleed the brakes completely after install. Use fresh DOT-approved brake fluid and bleed per Mazda's service procedure.

Check connections after 100 miles. Re-check all fittings for tightness and any signs of leaking after the first 100 miles of driving.

Installation Summary

The high-level install: raise vehicle, remove wheels, drain brake fluid, remove existing brake lines noting any C-clip and banjo positions, clean all sealing surfaces, install new lines starting at the caliper following the OEM routing using new crush washers, verify full suspension and steering travel doesn't bind or stretch the lines, torque banjo bolts and end fittings to manufacturer spec (or 12-14 ft-lbs if no spec is available), bleed the brakes with fresh DOT fluid, and verify a firm pedal before test driving.

Important: Do not force, rotate, or stretch any stainless steel hose assembly during install. The braid does not flex like rubber, and forcing the line can damage the inner liner.
