What It Does

Steering bind is a common problem on 240SX builds running aftermarket angle knuckles. The factory rack position works with factory geometry, but when you swap to angle knuckles that change the tie rod pickup points, the rack and tie rods end up fighting each other through the steering range. The usual fix is to physically relocate the steering rack, which requires fabrication and is a real project to do right.

Offset rack spacers shortcut that fix. They shift the rack mounting position by a fixed amount, which moves the tie rod pickup points back into a usable range relative to the angle knuckles. Result: less steering bind, more usable lock, no rack relocation fabrication required.

Critical Note for Early S13 Owners

Early S13 steering racks require modification to use these spacers. The rack housing needs to be cut with new notches using an angle grinder for the spacers to seat properly. This is a careful job, not a quick install. Late S13 and S14 racks work without modification.

When You Need Wisefab Instead

If you're running a Wisefab V2 front lock kit, you don't need rack offset spacers. Wisefab V2 kits include a rack relocation kit that handles the rack position properly without any spacer workaround. Offset spacers are the solution for builds running aftermarket angle knuckles that DON'T include their own rack solution.
