ISR Performance - Turbo Oil Restrictor

The ISR Performance Turbo Oil Restrictor is a 0.036-inch orifice oil restrictor for use with ISR ball bearing turbochargers. 7/16-24 threaded body with a -3AN male outlet. Required equipment for any dual-ball-bearing turbo running off engine oil pressure. without it, full pressure oil supply will damage the turbo's seals and push oil past the compressor or turbine.

What It Does

Dual-ball-bearing turbochargers don't need anywhere near full engine oil pressure for lubrication. The ball bearings themselves are sealed and need only enough oil for cooling and to top up what splash and bearing seepage takes away. Running unrestricted oil supply on a ball bearing turbo forces too much oil through the center cartridge faster than it can drain, which causes oil to back up past the seals and end up in the intake (compressor side) or exhaust (turbine side). The fix is restricting the oil supply with a small orifice. 0.036 inch is the right size for the ISR ball bearing turbo line.

Critical Compatibility

For ISR ball bearing turbos only. Do NOT use this restrictor with ISR journal bearing turbos. Journal bearings actually need higher oil flow than ball bearings, and restricting their supply will cause premature wear or outright failure.

• IS-RS3871 (journal bearing)
• IS-RST25/28 (journal bearing)
• Any other journal bearing turbo
